The wait is finally over for Al Ahly fans as the club has received the green light to commence construction on its brand-new stadium, set to be built on the outskirts of Cairo. The groundbreaking ceremony, held on November 2023, marked a historic moment for the club and its supporters.
The Al Ahly Stadium, designed by renowned architectural firm Populous, will be the largest and most advanced sports venue in Africa. Featuring a retractable roof, a seating capacity of over 60,000, and state-of-the-art facilities, the stadium will redefine the fan experience in the region.
Al Ahly's board of directors, led by Mahmoud El Khatib, hailed the groundbreaking ceremony as a momentous occasion for the club. "This stadium is a symbol of our legacy and our unwavering commitment to our fans," said El Khatib. "It will be a home for generations to come, where we will continue to create unforgettable memories."
