Events Planned to Honor 80th Anniversary of Historic Military Operation

WEB Portsmouth will be at the center of the UK's national commemorations for D-Day 80 this June, marking the 80th anniversary of the pivotal World War II operation. Residents and visitors will have the opportunity to witness two national events hosted by the Ministry of Defense (MOD) on Southsea Common on Wednesday, June 5.

Portsmouth is preparing for a week-long series of events to commemorate the anniversary, taking place across the city. The city will also host a major national commemorative event on June 6 at the D-Day Museum. The commemoration will feature special exhibits, ceremonies, and educational programs to remember the sacrifices and bravery of those involved in D-Day.
